Plan to develop Kadugannawa City into tourism zone

The Central Province Tourism Department has planned to develop the Kadugannawa City which is a main access to the Central Province and the surrounding areas into an attractive tourism zone.

Under this, the focus is on developing the place where the Kadugannawa Rock has been drilled, the Dawson Tower, Kadugannawa Rest House, the Kadugannawa Railway Museum and Fertiliser Storage Complex as tourist attractions and developing the Mudaliwatte Village as a hospitality village.

Central Province Chief Secretary Ajith Premasinghe has engaged in an observation tour of this area and held a special discussion in connection with future developments, with the officials of the Central Province Tourism Department as well.

Provincial Education Secretary Menaka Herath, Provincial Tourism Director Inodanie Thambawita, officials from both private and public institutions in the area together with a group of persons from the Mudaliwatte Hospitality Village were present.
