I don’t think about the result but only think about my execution said Chennai Super Kings most successful bowler Sri Lanka slinger action bowler Matheesha Pathirana who won the man of the match award against Mumbai Indians taking 4 for 28 .
The right arm slinger action bowler Pathirana did to Mumbai Indians what Lasith Malinga did to Chennai Super Kings ( CSK) last Sunday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai the home of Mumbai Indians.
The 21 year old right arm fast bowler playing his third IPL so far already captured 8 wickets with best figures of 4 for 28 against Mumbai Indians having taken 3 for 31 against Delhi Capitals to get success for CSK.
It was indeed an electrifying experience to witness the IPL showdown where CSK defeated Mumbai Indians (MI)while MI fast bowling coach Lasith Malinga was a witness at this match and Nuwan Thushara of MI and Maheesh Theekshana of CSK were on the bench at this game .
Dhoni Bhai told to calm down and that helped me a lot said young Pathirana who always admired former Indian Skipper Dhoni the senior member of CSK.
When I was bowling at power play honestly I was bit nervous said Pathirana .Then Dhoni Bhai came to me and said calm down and I always gave confidence and tried to do something special and normally do my regular things to get success and confidence is more important.Normally my run up and bowling at the stumps and making yokers and all these executed after getting good motivation from Dhoni Bhai .If I will do my execution very well that always brings success said Pathirana the paceman who started cricket from Ranabima Rajakeeya College Peradeniya and later crossed over to Trinity .
Some times I change my ideas from match to match and batsman to batsman to get success first two weeks I struggled with my injury but my supporting staff,senior players and CSK management especially Dhoni backed me to get back my rhythm as usual .
That’s the main thing to get success said Matheesha who is heading for next T- 20 world cup to strengthen Sri Lanka team .
Chennai Super Kings scored 206 for 4 wickets in 20 overs on Sunday game while skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 69 and Shivam Dube scored 66 and later Dhobi hit 20 in 4 balls with 3 sixes .
Matheesha Pathirana was used as fifth bowler of CSK and he made first breakthrough to pick Ishan Krishan (23) in 7.1 over and two balls later Suryakumar Yadav was out for a duck and back to back wickets in eighth over of Pathirana turned the game in their favour .The third wicket of
Thilak Varma in 14 th over while Romario Shepherd clean bowled by Pathirana in 18 th over to finish with figures of 4 for 28 to earn man of the match award
.Rohit Sharma unbeaten 105 was in vain as CSK won the match by 20 runs and Pathirana ‘ a achivement was highly praised by International commentary team and spectators of Wankhede Stadium.
