The revenue generated by expressways during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season from April 10 to 15 has exceeded Rs. 191 million.
Expressway Operation and Maintenance Division Director General R.I.D. Kahatapitiya said during this period, 550,000 vehicles used the expressways.
During the same period, traffic on the expressways increased by about 10 percent.
The revenue generated on Saturday (13) was over Rs. 40 million. A total of 128,000 vehicles had used the expressways on that day.
