The fourth cricket big match of Kandy between Wariyapoal Sri Sumangala College and Sri Rahulla College ended in a draw at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, and now they are waiting for the one day game. It was superb game and Sri Rahula College took the major honours by scoring 303 for 6 and Sri Sumangala College scored 159 and were forced to follow on and were 145 for 5 at the end of the game and the awards winners of the game were Sri Rahula College, the Best Batsman and Best Bowler was G.K.K. Vishal Gardiwasam, Best Fielder K. Ashan Punchihewa and from Sri Sumangala College Best Batsman Bhanuka Dissanayke, Best Bowler Savidu Nisala Chanuka, Best Fielder Sayuraga Wijerthne and the Man of the Match was Sri Rahula College skipper G.K.K. Vishal Gardiwasam. Now it’s time for the one day game, which will be the 12th and is going to be good game, and still the date to be fixed as they are having problem with the venue. The day wanted the Pallekelle Stadium it is not available. They are making arrangements to play the game soon as possible.

Old Sylverstrians Sports Club under the presidency of U.S.K.Kodituwakku, secretary G. Hewamaties and the able committee are going all-out to help to promote every sport. This school has promoted all sports and produced top sportsmen. What they lack is a proper playing field. On Sunday afternoon the sports committee met President Ranil Wickremasinghe at the President’s house in Kandy and gave their request asking for a ground and he has agreed to help which is going to be a great help for their school. Today St. Sylvester’s College with the help of the principal R. A. A. R. Ranasinghe doing a lot for sports like the former principals. They have good boxers, hockey players, footballers, cricketers, rugger players and indoor sport players what they lack is a proper playing field for the young up and coming sportsmen.
