Two individuals travelling on a three-wheeler were reported dead after being shot by a group of unidentified people in the Thalgahavila Malos-Ela area in the Moragahahena Police area last afternoon.
Police suspect that the gunmen had come in a motorcar to commit the crime and fled thereafter.
The victims had died on admission to the Horana Base Hospital.
They have been identified as 50 and 52 year old residents of Piliyandala and Pannipitiya.
Police were yet to identify the suspects and the reason for the killing.Moragahahena Police are investigating.
