Drug trafficker Nandasena arrested in Nuwara Eliya

Police Special Task Force arrested Kahadawitage Don Nandasena alias Thotalanga Nande who was a main drug trafficker who conducted large-scale drug trafficking between India and Sri Lanka, in a holiday resort in the Nuwara Eliya area.

Investigations have revealed that this suspect is residing in Chennai, India and he visits Sri Lanka once every three months to conduct the drug trafficking.

It is also reported that he last came to Sri Lanka on February 29 and was about to leave for India on a ship.

STF also received information that this suspect maintained a close connection with Police officers in different tiers. STF sleuths handed over a list of names of those Police officers to authorities.

STF further reports that this suspect was the owner of over 10 kilograms of ICE drug worth Rs.100 million they seized during raids done in Kiribathgoda and Katunayake areas on March 2.

That stock of ICE drugs was brought to Sri Lanka inside chocolate boxes, and was also scheduled to be distributed as such.

It is also reported that this suspect is a resident of Thotalanga 75 Watta and he was also the brother of the drug trafficker Thotalanga Bandu. After the death of the Thotalanga Bandu, it is reported that Thotalanga Nande started drug trafficking on a small scale targeting the Thotalanga area.
