Renovated Siyane Tharu Volleyball Court in Gampaha will be commissioned by Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranathunga on March 29.
The Reggie Ranatunga Memorial Volleyball Tournament will be held on March 29th, 30th and 31st at the renovated “Siyane Tharu” Volleyball Court with the aim of popularizing volleyball among schools in Gampaha district.
The Volleyball court is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, modern technology, and improved amenities for both players and spectators has been renovated by the Urban Development and Housing Ministry.
This Siyane Tharu Sports club has a history of about 74 years. Three captains of the Sri Lanka National Volleyball team have been produced through this sports club and it is special that the current captain of the national volleyball team also represents this sports club.
