The Government has completed the renovation works of Puwakpitiya rural tank in Galewela agrarian service area at the cost of Rs.10 million while a jogging path was also added along the tank bund.
In addition, 200 acres can be cultivated in both seasons of the year under this tank while this tank is feeding in Wayamba-ela, stretching up to Kurunegala district. The canal originates from Wemedilla reservoir. Therefore, the tank is filled with water for the whole year.
Tourism also can be developed targeting such attractive places while it is the best income generating movement of the Local Government institutes in the area.
The sluice of the tank which was in disrepair for years, has been renovated adding a new look to the tank.
