Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta Celebrates Ifthar

Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta celebrated Ifthar on 16 March 2024 at the Embassy premises. Chief of MUI Ustad Khearuddin led the religious observances including Maghrib prayers during the event.

A large number of Sri Lankans living in Indonesia including the members of the Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI) participated in the event. Guests were treated to traditional Ramadhan delicacies following breaking the fast with evening prayers.

In his address, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia and ASEAN Admiral Prof Jayanath Colombage highlighted the significance of the Ramadhan and its relevance to the way of life, and for the world peace. The Ambassador also appreciated the presence of a large number of Sri Lankans from all religious faiths for the event which showed the togetherness of Sri Lankans in Indonesia as a distinguished community and one family.
