Hameed Al Husseinie emerge under-18 Football champs

The victorious Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo under 18 team along with the squad members and officials

Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo beat Zahira  College Colombo by 4 goals to 2 in the final of the Renown President  Schools under 18 Boys division one all Island Football Championship  2023, sponsored by Renown Football Academy, organised and conducted by  the Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association, under the guidance and  supervision of the Ministry of Education, played at the Sugathadasa  Stadium on March 09 2024.

Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo drawn from group “B”  along with St. Benedict’s College Kotahena, Royal College Colombo, Maris  Stella College Negombo and Malyadeva Model School Kurunegala emerged  Champions in their respective group, whilst Royal College Colombo  emerged as the runner up.

Qualifying to the quarter final of the knock out stage,  Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo beat St. Henry’s College Jaffna by 1  goal to nil in a thrilling encounter, beat St. Patrick’s College Jaffna  by 5 goals to 2 in the semi final and overcame Zahira College Colombo  by 4 goals to 2 in the final to emerge as the Champions of the Renown  President Schools under 18 Boys division one all Island Football  Championship 2023.

Principal of Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo, M.R.M.  Risky has done a tremendous job to keep the name of the School in the  Sport of Football at the top among other leading Schools as in the past  and his keen interest in Football along with the able support from the  Academic Staff, MIC and specially the Coach helped these youngsters to  become a victorious outfit to emerge as the Champions at the Renown  President Schools under 18 Boys division one all Island Football  Championship 2023 as well as the Oxford President’s Cup Schools  Invitation Football championship 2024.

Hameed Al Husseinie College winning team comprised M.A.A.  Zacky, J.S.M. Riyaz, M.R. Athiq, M.S. M. Sahid, R.A. Rahuman, M.S.M.  Fazlan, A.F.M. Arham, S.M. Hussain, M.F. Abdullah, S. M. Hassan, A.M.M.  Murshid, M.S. M. Maziyath, M.F.M. Safa, Y.A. Rahuman, M. F. M. Razeen,  N.T. Arkam, M.H.M. Akeel, A.S. Umar, M.N. Abdullah and Z. H.M. Ziyad.
