Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education further discuss regarding the amendments to be made in the Draft National Education Policy Framework 2023-2033
The draft related to the National Education Policy Framework 2023-2033, which was recently presented to the Parliament, was discussed for the second day at the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education.
This was discussed at the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education held recently (08) in Parliament under the Chairmanship of Hon. (Dr.) V. Radhakrishnan.
The discussion regarding the draft of the National Education Policy Framework was also held when this Committee met on the 7th of December and the current discussion was held as an extension of it.
Prof. Arjuna Parakrama and Dr. M. Vehella, academics in the fields of education, were named as experts affiliated to this Sectoral Oversight Committee.
Prof. Arjuna Parakrama conducted presentation at length thereafter on the areas that should be given further attention in the preparation of the national education policy framework.
Secretary to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee for preparing the National Education Policy Framework Mr. Anura Dissanayake, Mrs. Wasantha Perera, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Director General of the National Institute of Education, Prof. Prasad Setunga and other officials provided with explanations.
Moreover, the youth representatives affiliated to the Committee also participated and presented their views before the Committee as permitted by the Committee Chair.
Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna, Hon. (Mrs.) Mudita Prashanthi, Hon. (Mrs.) Manjula Dissanayake and Hon. (Prof.) Charitha Herath, were present at this Committee meeting held.
