Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Thushara Indunil accused the National People’s Power (NPP) of misleading India by conducting a fake survey regarding Anura Kumara’s political mandate.

He claimed that the survey, which supposedly showed that Anura Kumara had a 50% mandate, was conducted on only 522 people and lacked scientific validity.

Indunil stated this while joining the press conference held yesterday (8) at the Opposition Leader’s office.

“After Anura Kumara Dissanayake was invited from India, Indian expansionism, boycotting Indian goods, invasions from India and Adani’s investments, everything was forgotten”, he said.

He added that they are waiting to see if Anura Kumara will speak against Adani’s investments and projects after returning to Sri Lanka.

He emphasized the importance of scientific surveys, stating that the samples selected and the questions used should be scientific and transparent.

He also called for clarity on how the 522 people were selected for the survey, including their profession, rural or urban residence, age group and gender.

Indunil also stated that survey experts would reveal the lies of this survey and that these are inferior efforts.
