A 21-year-old businesswoman has lodged a complaint with the Hanwella Police saying that an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who came to buy mangoes in uniform, attacked her with mangoes and the price display board. T. Uddika, a resident of Alelanda, Dombagahawela, Moneragala, who was attacked has been admitted to Salawa Hospital for treatment, Police said.

The complaint lodged by the woman with the Hanwella Police on Thursday (1) states that when the businesswoman came to a fruit shop in the Wanahagoda area on the Colombo road in Avissawella to buy mangoes, the Assistant Superintendent of Police hit her with mangoes and the price display board and then pushed the weighing scale towards her after the discussion regarding the price of mangoes went too far. Accordingly, the Police have also issued a forensic medical form to her.
