It is reported that over 250,000 industries have ceased operations, which is alarming. The chamber will  assist them in whatever way possible to revive their industries Kevin Edwards Chairman of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI)  told the launch event of the CNCI Achiever Awards 2024 held in Colombo on Wednesday.

He said the Achievers Awards, had a legacy of 22 years and as an Industrial Chamber was proud of being the pioneers to such a competition in Sri Lanka. The main sponsors of the event are Bank of Ceylon, Ceylinco General Insurance and Independent Television Network. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd is the Print Media Partner of the event.

The top 10 winners are selected through any Manufacturing/Service industry belonging to the Extra-Large Category. There will also be special recognition given to upcoming entrepreneurs selected from the Micro and Small Categories.

The primary objective of the “Achiever of Industrial Excellence” Award is to promote Industrial Growth in the country by recognizing those entrepreneurs who have excelled in Manufacturing or Service Industries. They are recognized nationally and provincially. The contest is held annually to identify those who have made significant strides in the respective fields of business thereby encouraging them to improve further and even to compete globally.

The judging process consists of the verification of financial information of the applications by an independent audit firm, review and marking by an internal judging committee, updating data to the system to get the marking scheme and ranking.

The final review will be done by an internal judging committee (financial and non-financial information) and the review and final ranking will be given by an external judging committee.

The closing date for applications is March 29, 2024 and the Awards Night will be held in August 2024.
