A young boy who went to bathe in the river in Kaduwela was attacked by a crocodile on Tuesday (16).
The boy (11) has died after being attacked by a crocodile in Kaduwela while bathing in the Kelani River.
According to Police, the boy had been bathing in the Kelani River with his sibling and grandmother at the time of the incident when the crocodile appeared out of nowhere and attacked the boy while the family members watched helplessly.
The deceased boy has been identified as a resident of Welivita in Kaduwela and his body was taken by the crocodile after attacking and went missing.
Police, Navy and the area residents have launched a combined search operation to find the body of the boy.
