SSC led by opener Avishka Fernando hope to make a double when they will meet Sebastianites in their Major Clubs limited over cricket final today at the SSC grounds, commence from 10am.
SSC already won Major clubs league cricket tournament when they were adjudged joint champions with Police SC and this is going to be good opportunity to clinch limited over title to complete a double under the guidance of head coach Saman Jayantha.
However less experienced Sebastianites who made an easy 10 wicket win over Baduraliya SC at the semi final is expected to make challenge today at the final. Infact SSC sans their National players Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Dasun Shanaka come up with good young players like Shevon Daniel, Ranuda Somaratne, Kavindu Nadeeshan and Chamindu Wickrmasinghe have a well balanced side.
Experienced opener Danishka Gunatilleka so far not among the runs but Avishka Fernando the skipper made a century at semi final will be the key wicket for Sebastianites.
With the home advantage SSC leg spinner Prabath Jayasuriya could be the main wrecker but Sebastianites Dushan Vimukthi also among the wickets and former two SSC players Tharindu Ratnayake who can bowl with both arms and Sachitha Jayatilleka also have good practice at SSC grounds.
Two pacemen Chamikara Edirisinghe and Isitha Wijesundara also upcoming bowlers can be a threat for SSC batting line up.
After the final there will be awards ceremony organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and Tournament Committee chairman Samantha Dodanwala will be the chief guest.
