Former Member of Parliament and Colombo district Samagi Jana Balawegaya organizer Nimal R. Peiris and Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s Kalutara District organizer, former Western Provincial Council Health Minister Sumith Lal Mendis (3) joined the United National Party.
Expressing his support for the country building programme led by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, former MP Nimal R.Peiris met National Security Adviser and National Organizer of the United National Party Sagala Ratnayake and joined the party.
Peiris said he is ready to work according to the philosophy of the current President Ranil Wickramasinghe. United National Party District Organizer Lasantha Gunawardena participated in this event. Sri Lanka Freedom Party Kalutara District leader and former Health Minister of Western Provincial Council Sumith Lal Mendis joined the United National Party at the Sirikotha Party Headquarters, after meeting United National Party Chairman Palitha Range Bandara and Executive Director the Party, Shamal Senarath.
He stated that he would work with the United National Party to win the country by supporting the economic philosophy that took the country out from where it was in a short period of one and a half years.
A group of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party members in Kalutara district also joined the United National Party with him.
