President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued an Extraordinary Gazette notification, making power supply, petroleum production and fuel supply or distribution essential services.
The Gazette states that the process within port, such as the unloading, handling, storage and delivery of food or beverages or coal, oil or fuel or other services, facilitating and maintaining air traffic services including airports and ports, are designated as essential services. This Extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued with effect from January 3rd.
