Kids & Teens Medical Group, Asia Corp Holdings and Healthy Life Clinic based in USA with medical operations in Sri Lanka, will invest more than Rs. 1 billion to convert the recently acquired and re-launch of St. Joseph Hospital, Negombo as the biggest private hospital.

Half of this investment has been already made.

Following its recent acquisition, the hospital has undergone an extensive upgrade, refurbishment and augmentation of medical resources and infrastructure, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of healthcare services in Sri Lanka.

“The comprehensive re-development includes the expansion of in-patient beds, two state-of-the-art channeling centres, 27 well-equipped channeling rooms, an eye surgery centre, in-house emergency ambulance services, and specialized children’s wards, all facilities spanning across four floors,” said Director and CEO, Sunil De Silva.

In addition, there is also a substantial increase in specialist and resident doctors to a total of 45.

The management also hopes to build and open a new wing which would increase the bed strength and add more facilities next year.

This strategic expansion positions St. Joseph Hospital located at St. Joseph’s Street to meet the escalating demand for both emergency and elective medical care in Sri Lanka, catering to a broader spectrum of patients in the years to come.

Our renovations focus on enhanced resources, infrastructure, and facilities for medical emergencies and elective treatments, all aligned with global medical standards,” stated Sunil De Silva.

Sunil emphasized the hospital’s commitment to Western standards of healthcare and efficiency. “Our healthcare system stands out for its efficiency and effectiveness, offering state-of-the-art government-approved digital X-rays and high-tech laboratories for superior health reporting and analysis.”

“St. Joseph Hospital prioritizes quality and affordable healthcare for all, reinvesting funds into children welfare programs, free health clinics, and workshops,” he affirmed.

The hospital embraces the future of healthcare with tele health and chat consultation services, ensuring expert medical guidance is readily accessible. “Though all our services are of US standard our charges will be 30% less than the local private medical charges.”

“Our strategy is to invest and improve healthcare infrastructure in Sri Lanka, fully prepared to address the evolving needs of a rapidly growing populace seeking specialized health services.”

St. Joseph Hospital operates round-the-clock, providing 24-hour emergency services and for the first time will also accept local insurance for OPD facilities form patients. (SS)
