Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana yesterday said that concerted effort is required to control the dengue spread in the country.
He said that dengue prevalence was very high in the Colombo, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia and Kaduwela Municipal Council areas and this situation was brought under control due to the commitment of the health officials at ground level.
The Health Minister was speaking after inspecting the operation to annihilate the Dengue larvae using the drone technology in Kalapaluwawa in the Battaramulla MOH division yesterday.
“Dengue cannot be controlled by the health authorities alone. It requires the support of all sectors. If a person suspects of having been infected with dengue, he should get treatment from a qualified doctor,”he said.
