Sri Lanka Police has introduced new hotlines for the public to provide information on narcotics.
Accordingly, the Police has released a list of contact numbers for this purpose. The hotlines are as follows: Special Operations Room at Police Headquarters – 0718-598800, Colombo North – 0718-598801, Colombo South – 0718-598802, Colombo Central – 0718-598803, Kelaniya 0718-598808, Kandy- 0718-598815.
Meanwhile, the Public Security Ministry said Police will take steps to introduce a hotline number from January 1 for immediate action in relation to harassment and oppression faced by women and children. The aim is to provide necessary services to women and children in a more reliable and privacy-friendly manner through this call centre operated by women police officers 24 hours a day. Through this hotline number, it is possible to inform police about the problems they are facing from any place in the country in any language.
