The Irrigation Department has extended the “Amber” flood warning for the low-lying areas of Malwathu Oya as the water levels are on the rise.
As per the warning, the warning mentioned in the flood warning message No. 01 issued for the Malwathu Oya basin on 17.12.2023 at 2.00 pm will be extended for the next 24 hours. It is requested to pay high attention in
this regards by the residents in the areas mentioned in flood warning message No. 01 and vehicle
drivers running through those areas. Disaster Management Authorities are requested to take
adequate precautions in this regards.
