The AURA 2023 concert, hosted by Vidura College’s Colombo Kalutara branch, took place on December 1st at the Divisional Secretaries Auditorium. Professor Rangika Halwatura, the youngest professor in Civil Engineering Science in Sri Lanka from the University of Moratuwa, graced the event as the chief guest.

AURA, an annual tradition, aims to instill a deep sense of Sri Lankan identity and cultural values in students. The event serves the broader objective of enhancing the psychological and cultural development of Vidura College students. The school believes that psychological development contributes to the understanding and appreciation of cultural, religious values, rituals, and customs, creating well-rounded individuals.

The AURA concert offers students a platform to experience and embrace Sri Lankan customs, traditions, art, music, wood carving, paintings, and more. The school emphasizes the importance of cultural roots in shaping a complete human being, with Vidurians encouraged to proudly uphold their cultural heritage in the global society.

The concert featured captivating performances, including Kandian dancing, low country dancing, and Eastern and Western music choir items. These performances, noted for their vibrancy and glamour, quickly won the hearts of the audience.

The aesthetic teachers, namely Rameesha, Kosala, Avishka, Lakmini, and Sandali, were praised for their role in grooming young Vidurians into top-notch performers. Their dedication to molding artistic talents with precision in steps and elegant physical movements was highly valued and appreciated.
