Two held at BIA with electronic items worth Rs. 10 Mn

Katunayake Airport Police apprehended a stock of electronic items worth Rs.10 million which was brought to Sri Lanka illegally by two businessmen on Tuesday (12).

A spokesperson of the airport Police said that without hiding the electronic items in their luggage, these two suspects had packed them in a trolley used for airport goods transportation and came out of the airport.

These two suspects aged 40 and 43 who are residents of Matara and Dehiwela.

Those two suspects arrived at Sri Lanka from Dubai on flights bearing number EK-650 and FZ-1025.

17 laptops, 47 iphones, 200 iphone chargers, 55 iphone accessories, 39 iphone batteries, 22 whiskey bottles, three JBL speakers, three wireless microphones and eight security camera systems were among the arrested items.

This stock of electronic items is to be handed over to the Airport Customs officers.
