Wickramaratne Kasun Chintaka alias ‘Harak Kata’ and Salindu Gunaratne alias ‘Kudu Salindu’, who are currently being interrogated for drug trafficking and other crimes, recently informed Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage that they have not been questioned by the CID in the last 45 days.
They had stated this when the Magistrate recently visited the CID to examine these two suspects.
Accordingly, the Magistrate has informed the Officer in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Department to submit a further report related to the investigation of the suspects.
In his order, the Magistrate has also directed to record the CCTV footage of the place where they are detained.
According to the notification that ‘Harak Kata’ has a rash on his head and ‘Kudu Salindu’ is having a toothache, the Magistrate had informed authorities to provide them the necessary medical treatment. The Officer in Charge had replied that that the doctor of the Police hospital will be brought and the necessary medical treatment will be given.
