Dr. Palitha Mahipala is slated to assume duties as the new Health Ministry Secretary today.
Dr. Mahipala has previously worked in the Ministry of Health as the Director General of Health Services as well as an Additional Secretary.
The World Health Organization had appointed Dr. Mahipala as their representative to Pakistan.
He is a respected public official in the country’s health sector.
