COPE Chairman Prof. Ranjith Bandara said that in 2007, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the construction of a building for Sabaragamuwa University.

Sabaragamuwa University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunil Shantha said the foundation stone was laid for the administration building. He said it is a land near the university and there was an issue over ownership.
