The main accomplice of the notorious underworld gangster “Heenatiyana Mahesh” who operates his crime syndicate network from Dubai, UAE had been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF).
The 25-year-old main accomplice of “Heenatiyana Mahesh” had been taken into custody on Monday (6) together with one T-56 assault rifle, three magazines, one pistol, two fake vehicle registration plates and more than 100 rounds of ammunition that was in his possession.
The criminal suspect was caught in the area of Kudapaduwa, Negombo, after the STF officers attached to the Gonahena camp received a tip-off and carried out a raid.
According to STF, these firearms had been used before to commit many murders in the Western Province that included the killing of a father and three sons in the Negombo area.
He was later handed over to the Negombo Police for further investigations by the STF team.
