Sanjeeva’s acolyte on murder mission arrested at BIA

Police Special Task Force has uncovered that the underworld criminal who was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Wednesday arrived from Sharjah with the intention of killing a businessman in Attanagalle and fleeing back to that country again. A senior Special Task Force officer stated that this criminal named Roshan Chaturka alias Charika, said to be a contract killer for Makilangamuwe Sanjeeva’s gang, had come to Sri Lanka in preparation for this murder, according to a cash contract.

The officer said that the the STF had received information of a contract been awarded to the suspect to kill an owner of a restaurant for non-payment of ransom money.

It is said that the concerned businessman has also filed complaints with Attanagalla and Nittambuwa Police stations that an underworld gang is demanding money from him.

The officer also mentioned that the criminal was arrested on Wednesday (1) according to information received by the Intelligence Division of the Special Task Force that he was preparing to come to Sri Lanka between 2023-10-30 and 2023-11-01.

The Special Task Force has even found the foreign passport number of this criminal and informed the airport security authorities about it. He was arrested based on that information.

The investigation has revealed that this person is a former Army soldier. He had been previously charged for murders and thefts.
