IFC assures continued support for Sri Lanka’s economic stability

Shehan Semasinghe, State Minister of Finance held a discussion with Ricardo Puliti, the Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) about the current reform program in Sri Lanka.

Semasinghe stated that the IFC has assured the continued support for Sri Lanka’s economic stability during the discussion. Emmanuel Moulin, the President of the Paris Club also met with Semasinghe together with the Co-Chairman William Roos and Vice-Chairman Christophe Boris.

Semasinghe stated that the discussion was useful in understanding the high level of international support to ensure Sri Lanka’s debt sustainability and also it was an opportunity to appreciate the efforts and support rendered by the Paris Club’s on behalf of Sri Lanka’s economic stability and the success of its debt restructuring program.

Meanwhile, the State Minister of Finance met the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank, Shikshin Chen while attending the Annual Conference of IMF and World Bank. The chairman pointed out that the Asian Development Bank will continue to support Sri Lanka in carrying out the necessary structural reforms and is ready to provide further necessary financing at any time.
