Four Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel, who were on duty at the expressway were injured following an earthslip near the 102 km area between Imaduwa and Pinnaduwa on the Southern Expressway yesterday night.
Police sources said the STF personnel had been hospitalized, but none of them had suffered any serious injuries.
The Director General of the Road Development Authority L. E. S. Weerakoon said, traffic has been completely halted in the relevant area.
The Director General added that people who want to go from Kottawa to Hambantota can exit from the Pinnaduwa interchange and re-enter the highway from the Imaduwa entrance and drivers coming from Hambantota towards Kottawa can exit the Imaduwa interchange and re-enter the highway from the Pinnaduwa entrance.
