Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday ordered the head of the five-member panel of medical experts designated by the Court to conduct a new post-mortem examination in  order to determine the cause of death of Janashakthi Group director Dinesh Schaffter, Prof. Asela Sampath to present the relevant report to the Court as soon as possible.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered the five-member expert panel yesterday (9) to give their opinion on allowing Schaffter’s body to be cremated.

The CID informed the court that a five-member panel of medical experts was designated to conduct a new post-mortem examination in order to determine the cause of death of Schaffter and that report has not been received as yet.

The five-member medical panel has informed the Court that the final investigation report stating the cause of death of Schaffter has been prepared and the report can be submitted to the Court after the body is handed over to the relatives.

The Magistrate further ordered that the report be submitted to the court after the body of the deceased is handed over to the relatives for cremation or burial.
