Seven Officers belonging to the Medical Branch of the Sri Lanka Navy (Regular) passed out at the main parade ground of Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) Trincomalee on September 30. The ceremony was graced by the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage.
Among the passed out officers were one Sub-Lieutenant and two Acting Sub-Lieutenants who have completed their medical degree at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University(KDU), belonging to the 33rd intake of KDU, three Acting Sub Lieutenants who completed their degree programme, after having joined the Navy under University Grant Commission Entry, and one Direct Entry Sub Lieutenant. The group of newly passed out medical officers also featured three lady officers.
The entertaining items presented by the Navy Band at the end of the dignified event made the occasion more colourful. The directing staff, officers from the Eastern Naval Command and the family members of the newly passed out officers were also present on this occasion.
