Davisamara and Wickremashila under 19 champions of DSI Super Sports VB

Davisamara Maha Vidyalaya Seeduwa and Wickramashila National School Giriulla emerged champions in the Under-19 category of the 24th DSI Super Sports Schools Volleyball Championship conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Volleyball Association under the guidance of the Ministry of Education held at the Sugathadasa Stadium on Sunday.

In a thrilling final, Davisamara Maha Vidyalaya secured victory by defeating Rajasinghe Central College with a score of 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, and 25-21).

Manjuja Nisal and Navod Malindu of Davisamara Maha Vidyalaya were honoured with the Best Player and Best Setter awards, while Induranga Ratnayake of Rajasinghe Central College received the Best Attacker award.

In an intense Girls’ Under-19 final, Wickramashila National School Giriulla secured the championship title by winning 3-2 against Sangamitta Balika Maha Vidyalaya Kirindiwela. The scoreline for the sets read 23-25, 16-25, 25-13, 25-13, and 15-10 in favour of Wickramashila National School.

For the excellent performance of Chathuri Purnima and Nishadi Kavya of Wickramashila National School were recognized as the Best Player and Best Setter, respectively, while Malithi Kavya of Sangamitta Balika Maha Vidyalaya Kirindiwela was named the Best Attacker.

In the Under-17 Boys’ finals, Pannala National School emerged as the champions after a challenging four-set match against Rajasinghe Central College Ruwanwella, with a scoreline of 3-1 (23-25, 27-25, 25-20, and 25-17).

Matheesha Pansilu and Nipun Pramod of Pannala National School were named the Best Setter and Best Player, respectively, while Vinhanga Chamikara of Rajasinghe Central College received the Best Attacker award.

In the Under-17 Girls’ final, Vijayaba National School Hungama emerged victorious by 3-2 in a five-set match against Uhana Tissapura Vidyalaya Ampara, with a scoreline of 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 26-24, and 15-10.

Nipuni Dileshika and Hiruni Praboda of Vijayaba National School were honored with the Best Player and Best Setter awards, while Sulakkana Pasiduni of Uhana Tissapura Vidyalaya received the Best Attacker award.
