Russian Ambassador in Colombo Levan Dzhagryan yesterday said that Russia never imposes any conditions on aid neither political nor economic.
The Ambassador said that one of the aims of Russian Foreign Policy is to promote international co-operation in solving economic, social, cultural and humanitarian problems.
“Our aim is always humanitarian, our actions are based on the principles of respect of independence and non interference in to domestic affairs”, he said.
The Russian envoy was speaking at the handing over of 352 tonnes of sunflower oil to Sri Lanka through the World Food Programme in Veyangoda.
“Food is one of the most important concerns during any crisis. Without proper nutrition people are at a risk for many health problems facing food insecurity and other hardships”, he said .
He said that Russia will continue in providing supporting friendly nations despite all the challenges faced by our country. “Our aim is always humanitarian, our actions are based on the principles of respect of independence and non interference in to domestic affairs”.
