The 34th National Youth Sports Festival organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, National Youth Service Council and Sri Lanka Youth Club Federation will be held from September 3 to October 22 in Maharagama, National Youth Centre Sports Grounds and playgrounds of several districts.
On September 3, The men’s marathon, which is 42 km long, will begin at the Youth Centre Maharagama, proceed to Meegoda on the high level road and turn back on the same road to finish in front of the National Youth Centre. The women’s half-marathon race of 21 km will start in front of the Maharagama National Youth Centre and go back along the High Level Road in Homagama, turn around near the Kandalanda Wood Mill and come back on the same road and finish near the Maharagama National Youth Centre.
Women’s and men’s volleyball matches will be held on September 16 and 17 at Ruwanwella Rajasinghe University, women’s and men’s netball matches will be held on September 23 and 24 at Maharagama National Youth Centre, and women’s and men’s beach volleyball matches will be held at the Heiantuduwa Youth Service Training Centre on the same day in September. Football Women’s and Men’s matches will be played on September 30, October 1 at Vincent Diaz Stadium, Badulla. Carrom Women’s and Men’s matches are to be held on October 7 and 8 at the Carrom Federation, Colombo. The Tug of War Women’s and Men’s matches are scheduled for the same day at Maharagama Youth Centre. The women’s and men’s basketball matches will be held on October 14 and 15 at the basketball courts in Colombo, the women’s and men’s kabaddi matches will be held at Maharagama National Youth Centre on the same day, and the Elle women’s and men’s matches will be held on October 20 and 21 at Mahaweli Embilipitiya and Embilipitiya Maha Vidyalaya. Women’s and men’s cricket matches will also be held on the same day at Mahaweli Cricket Ground, Embilipitiya.
The 34th National Youth Sports Finals will be held on November 16, 17, 18 and 19 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
