Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, hit his career-best 151 off 151 balls with 14 fours and 3 sixes as Afghanistan made a challenging total of 300 for 5 wickets in 50 overs in their second ODI against Pakistan played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
It was a fine batting display by the Afghan team after struggling at their second-lowest ODI total of 59 runs in the first game. 21-year-old right-hander Rahmanullah Gurbaz led the way to build up the total.
Ibrahim Zadran hit 80 in 101 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes as the openers made a record stand of 227 in 39.5 overs which gave a solid platform to the Afghan team. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi was the only successful bowler with 2 for 51.
The third and final ODI will be held on tomorrow (26) at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
