Trinity College Kandy, defending joint champion, will meet Prince of Wales College Moratuwa in the semi final of the Under 17 division One inter schools cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket at BOI ground Katunayake on today (15).
76 teams participated in the league based into 14 groups in the first round. Trinity College Kandy advanced to the second round as the group champion in the first round. Prince of Wales College Moratuwa advanced to the second round as the runner up of their group in the first round.
Unbeaten Trinity College Kandy beat Bandaranayake MMV Gampaha and Prince of Wales College Moratuwa beat Ananda College Colombo in the second round.
Trinity College Kandy beat Kingswood College Kandy and Prince of Wales College Moratuwa beat St. Benedict’s College Kotahena in the pre quarter final round.
Trinity College Kandy beat Rahula College Matara in the quarter final round and Prince of Wales Moratuwa beat Maliyadeva College Kurunegala in the quarter finals.
Trinity College Kandy will be led by Dimantha Mahavithana and Prince of Wales College Moratuwa will be led by Prince Fernando.
