The outstanding electricity bill of the Badulla Teaching Hospital has risen to nearly Rs.70 million rupees, hospital sources said.
Due to this, on Wednesday the CEB had disconnected electricity to some sections in the hospital premises including nurses training centre, medical officer quarters and the nursing dormitory, hospital sources said.
When inquired hospital authorities confirmed the hospital owed the CEB around Rs.70 million for electricity and power had been disconnected to some sections within the hospital premises.
Hospital authorities said there is a risk of the hospital completely losing power in the near future if outstanding payments are not settled.
