Two Media oraganizations and an opposition political party involved
Intelligence agencies have apprised President Ranil Wickremesinghe by a confidential report that a programme is being organized to create a wave of protests against the Government by taking advantage of the current unrest among the farmers due to the drought which is a natural disaster.
Intelligence reports have revealed that a section that was involved in the Aragalaya is behind the organization of these protests and their motive is to create a wave of protests against the Government by brining the people to the streets against the Government.
The intelligence agencies have also indicated that the forces behind this have aimed at disrupting the economic programme which has helped the economy recover gradually.
The groups who are involved in these activities against the Government have been named by the intelligence agencies in their reports. The reports have also named two media organizations which are creating media reports that provoke the people.
Information with regard to a party in the Opposition and a Parliamentarian representing a Tamil party in the Opposition have also surfaced through these reports. The intelligence agencies have mentioned that this group is working to portray that the Government is not giving water to the farmers who are affected by the drought.
Intelligence agencies have mentioned that this group is working to bring people to the streets pointing out that water scarcity will lead to a shortage of food soon.
Sources revealed that the intelligence agencies have further stated in their report that what this group wants is to create an era of queues again like what happened last year and make a political revolution through it.
