Two suspects who have been identified to have plotted to murder an underworld criminal named ‘Kavi’ were arrested by the Colombo Central Crime Division on June 30, at a hotel in Kehelwatte.
The two suspects working as brokers are residents of Panchikawatte Road, Maradana and are in the age group of 20 and 30 years. It has been discovered by the Police that these two suspects have provided the motorcycle to the duo who were involved in the murder, according to the information received by the Police Media Unit office.
The investigations have revealed that the murdered individual was one who belonged to the powerful underworld group led by ‘Dhanuke’ who is currently imprisoned in India.
It has been discovered that the murder had been plotted by ‘Danesh’ of Keselwatte. ‘Danesh’ is currently in India.
It has been revealed that this killing is a result of a power struggle between these two underworld gangs led by Dhanuke and Danesh.
