Center Wasantha Samarasinghe, said that the fight to protect the people’s funds will not be stopped without attaining victory.
He said so while participating in a protest held in Colombo recently. At a time when the Government has prepared plans to rob the people working in distant plantations, the people working in trade zones, factories, worksites in Pettah, shops and sales outlets of their funds in the Employees’ Provident Fund and Employees’ Trust Fund belonging to these brothers and sisters who work, we have come to say that the rights of these belong to the working people of this country. The message to the government is to not get ready to lay a hand on our funds.
This fund is made up of people’s blood, tears and sweat. Stealing this money will not be allowed at all. This fight cannot be stopped by restraining orders.
He said that they will fight until victory is achieved.
