Closer collaboration with Indian investors and businesses would help Sri Lanka recover faster from the economic crisis while ensuring shared prosperity, said Governor Northern Province, P. S. M. Charles.

She made these observations when she met a Confederation of Indian Industries and Vivekananda International Foundation (CII-VIF) delegation to discuss investment opportunities in a wide variety of sectors in the province.

The meeting was organized by the Consulate General of India in Jaffna.

The delegation is also set to meet businessmen from Northern Province, while also visiting relevant investment sites during their 3-day visit of the Northern Province.

Following the visit of the President of Sri Lanka to India, where enhanced geographic and business connectivity were among the issues discussed, a multi-sectoral delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industries and Vivekananda International Foundation, comprising experts and industry leaders in sectors such as Conventional and Renewable Energy, Logistics and Infrastructure shipping, Water Management, Information Technology, Tourism and Agriculture explored possibilities of investments in these sectors.

Officials from the Departments of Industries, Urban Development Authority, Board of Investment, Cooperatives, Dairy and Animal Husbandry participated in the discussions.
