Defending champion Trinity College Kandy, St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa, Rahula College Matara and Maliyadeva College Kurunegala advanced to the pre quarter final round of the Under 17 division One inter schools cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket on yesterday.
St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa beat Nalanda College Colombo by 8 wickets and Trinity College Kandy beat Kingswood College Kandy by 6 wickets in their pre quarter final fixtures.
Rahula College Matara beat Taxila Central College by 5 wickets and Maliyadeva College Kurunegala beat St. Aloysius College Galle by 53 runs in their pre quarter final fixtures.
Vimath Dinsara, right arm leg spinner of St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa showed good all-round performances. He claimed 6 wickets for 23 runs against Nalanda College Colombo. Kavija Gamage of Kingswood College Kandy made his 4th century in this season. Chaniru Hansana of Trinity College Kandy scored 111 runs against Kingswood College Kandy.
