The International Police has managed to rescue 15 Sri Lankans caught by traffickers in Africa. These Sri Lankans who were caught by human traffickers in Sierra Leone have been rescued in a special police operation according to intelligence received through the International Police.
The International Police has announced that more than 1,000 people have been arrested in various countries across the world in an operation conducted together with AFRIPOL against human trafficking and migrant smuggling, and thousands more victims of trafficking have been discovered.
Meanwhile, in a raid on a hotel in Lome, the Togolese authorities have managed to rescue 30 more people who were recruited for sex work in Nigeria and it is reported that many of the cases that have been revealed have involved victims from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
