The National Police Commission (NPC) has transferred 12 Senior Police Officers with immediate effect.
The order has been issued by Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickremaratne yesterday.
According to the order, Director of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) SSP D.S.Wickramasinghe, four Acting SSPs and one SP have been transferred. SSP Wickramasinghe has been transferred as the Director of Research and Development Division. E.M.G.J. Seram has been transferred from the Director of the Research and Development Division to the Director of the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau. I.W.G.R. Kandewatta from the position of Elpitiya Divisional Chief of Police to Personal Assistant of Uva Provincial Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police.
J.A. Chandrasena from Personal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police to Director of Sri Lanka Police Academy W.A.W.C. Premasiri from the post of Vavuniya Divisional Police Chief to Personal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police.
M. N. S.Mendis as the Director of Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau C.M.N.T. Kumara from the directorship of the Sri Lanka Police College to the Director of the Criminal Intelligence Analysis and Prevention Division. K.B. Manatunga, from his position as Director of Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau, as the Kantale Divisional Police Chief.
