Sri Lanka is currently hosting the Miss Tourism pageant with participation of representatives of 40 countries.
“The event was created to market Sri Lanka as tourism destination that offers many features, “ said International Director of the Pageant, Sahita Hettiarachchi.
However many observers said that the event lacked support and was cold shouldered by both the Ministry of Tourism and State Ministry of Tourism and due this some of the would-be host hotels had pulled out. Some of the participants with Sahita Hettiarachchi at an event in Kaduwela yesterday.
