Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday ordered to send a reminder letter to the Government Analyst regarding the delay in submitting analysis reports when the case related to the death of Janashakthi Group Director Dinesh Schaffter was taken up yesterday.

The Government Analyst’s reports on the mobile phones, laptops and other computer devices of four people including friends of Schaffter, Brian Thomas and T.O.de Perera have not been received in Court still.

The Criminal Investigation Department submitted a further report and requested Court to send a reminder letter to the Government Analyst regarding the submission of reports related to the laptops and mobile phones used by Tania Mel, Brian Thomas, T.O. de Perera and Dinesh Schaffter. The CID also told the Court that the body of Schaffter, which was taken for a second autopsy, was in the mortuary of Galle Karapitiya Hospital. In addition to this, the CID informed Court that they have not yet received the Government Analyst’s reports on the foreign biological samples found in the wire tied around Schaffter’s neck and two zip ties used to tie his hands.

It was revealed that the Genetech report called regarding the blood samples of Schaffter’s mother has not yet been received and the expert committee report regarding the death of Schaffter has also not been submitted to the Court. After considering the relevant facts, the Magistrate adjourned the case after ordering to inform the Government Analyst to submit the relevant reports to the Court immediately.
