The Sri Lankan junior table tennis teams to Doha, Qatar

The vibrant city of Doha is buzzing with anticipation as it prepares to host the highly anticipated 27th edition of the Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship. With the championship commenced on July 16 and running until July 22, table tennis enthusiasts from across Asia are eagerly awaiting the fierce competition that lies ahead.

The Sri Lankan junior table tennis under 15 and under 19 teams bid farewell to their homeland as they embark on a thrilling journey to Doha, Qatar. Their invitation to this prestigious tournament was earned by their remarkable performance as the runner-up team in the South Asian championship, which took place in Itanagar, India from May 14 to 17, 2023. Although India clinched the title by a narrow margin, Sri Lanka’s stellar achievements throughout the tournament have propelled them to represent their nation in the Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship.

The Sri Lankan junior table tennis team comprises a group of players who are ready to make their mark on the international stage. Their unwavering dedication, countless hours of practice, and the guidance of their committed officials have shaped them into formidable opponents.
