Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army. He was the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army prior to this new appointment.
He has been serving as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Headquarters at Kosgama.He also served as the Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters Mullaitivu. He was also Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment. Born on October 13, 1968, he is a product of Ananda College. He is the son of former Army Commander, General Hamilton Wanasinghe.
